- Hazard
- The product presents a serious risk of electric shock because it is designed so that multiple light units can be connected together in a “daisy-chain” arrangement using connectors on each end of the fitting. To connect an additional light, a protective cover must be removed, which exposes live and neutral pins at mains voltage. If the connector is left uncovered, or if a connected light or linking cable is removed, users can access live parts and receive an electric shock. The product was also supplied with a counterfeit fuse which may fail to provide adequate protection in fault conditions.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
- Corrective action
- The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
