- The product presents a risk of fire because the plug is counterfeit, does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363, and does not have a ballast. A ballast is required to ensure the safe operation of the product under fault conditions. The cable conductor cross-sectional area is also significantly smaller than declared, measuring approximately 0.493 mm² rather than the marked 0.75 mm². This may result in the cable overheating when subjected to electrical load, increasing the likelihood of overheating, ignition and fire.
- The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
