The button cell batteries may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, presenting a choking hazard for young children, and subsequently also presenting a burns hazard by causing damage to the gastrointestinal tract.
- The product also presents a risk of burns as the short-circuit causes a smoke release and generates a maximum temperature. The overheating poses a burns hazard to consumers.
