Validated by the European Commission: · Ref. 2026.8125
Summary
Groundnut kernels imported from Nicaragua have been found to contain high levels of aflatoxins, a type of mycotoxin. The level of aflatoxin B1 is 16 times higher than the permitted limit and the total aflatoxin level is more than four times higher than allowed. As a result, no further distribution in the EU has occurred due to this issue being detected through self-checking by the company.
A RASFF notification means that a risk was identified and shared between national authorities. It does not necessarily mean the product was sold in every country — check the distribution list and the measures taken.
