Summary
Dried figs from Turkey contain high levels of aflatoxins, which are toxic substances that can cause serious health problems. The levels found exceed the maximum permitted amounts set by EU regulations. As a result, the product has been detained at the border and not released for sale in the EU market.
A RASFF notification means that a risk was identified and shared between national authorities. It does not necessarily mean the product was sold in every country — check the distribution list and the measures taken.
