EU alert · RASFF Risk: Potentially serious New Feed materials
Salmonella Isagni in PAP (feather and blood meal)
Validated by the European Commission: · Ref. 2026.8568
Summary
Finland has issued a product safety alert for processed animal protein (PAP) feed materials imported from Lithuania, as they contain Salmonella Isangi bacteria. This poses a risk since no level of pathogenic micro-organisms is permitted in such products. The contaminated material was detected during the company's own checks and there was no distribution within Finland.
A RASFF notification means that a risk was identified and shared between national authorities. It does not necessarily mean the product was sold in every country — check the distribution list and the measures taken.
