Molds and changes in the organoleptic properties of dates from Iran
Validated by the European Commission: · Ref. 2026.8085
Summary
Dates from Iran have been found to contain high levels of non-pathogenic moulds (19 CFU/g) and altered sensory characteristics. These issues were detected through official market controls in Croatia, which also noted that the products had been distributed to other EU countries including Slovenia.
A RASFF notification means that a risk was identified and shared between national authorities. It does not necessarily mean the product was sold in every country — check the distribution list and the measures taken.
