bombage in canned fish from Ecuador
Validated by the European Commission: · Ref. 2026.8096
Summary
The EU has issued a safety alert for canned tuna products from Ecuador, which were found to contain nitrobenzene, a potential health risk. The products, imported into the EU through Poland, have not yet been sold in stores. They are currently being held by customs authorities while further testing is conducted.
A RASFF notification means that a risk was identified and shared between national authorities. It does not necessarily mean the product was sold in every country — check the distribution list and the measures taken.
