Summary
A bath toy, shaped like a shark, has been found to pose a serious risk to young children. The toy's long cord can get tangled around the child's neck, leading to strangulation, and its plastic hook is too long and can be easily put in the mouth, causing choking hazards. What is the risk?
- The toy's cord is too long. It could entangle around the neck of the child and create a risk of strangulation. Moreover, the plastic hook has a protruding part that is too long. Small children may put it in the mouth and choke. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive nor with the European standard EN 71-1.
